We returned to southern Africa during August and September for an extended safari through some of the national parks of Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi.
We started in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, where we last visited in 1990 on our 1st African safari. We sawmany changes in the area but the Falls are impressive as we remembered. From there we flew to Hwange National Park to stay at Little Makalolo Camp and then onward over Lake Karibe to Ruckomechi Camp in Mana Pools National Park. We saw many animalsin Zimbabwe. We took a boat up the Zambezi River to cross into Zambia and eventually reach Shoebill Camp in the Bangweulu Wetlands to see black lechwe and shoebill storks. We went west to Busanga Bush Camp in Kafue National Park and saw many red lechwe. After a great stay we flew to Malawi to Lilonde National Park for another great stay and eventually to Likoma Island in Lake Malawi.
