It's three hours from Miami to Caracas making it a relatively quick trip. We visited in March, stopping first in Caracas, then onward to Cuidad Guyana (Puerto Ordaz) and making our way south to the Gran Sabana, a large grassland dotted with tepuis, large flat-topped mountains of quartzite and sandstone. We climbed Roraima and explored its broad, flat summit with breathtaking views and strange rock formations and plants. Roraima is also home to the "Triple Point" where Venezuala, Brazil and Guyana meet. Later we flew to Canaima to see Angel Falls. The rivers were too dry to travel far by boat but we did manage to explore some before flying past the spectacular falls. We ended our trip with a couple of relaxing days on the beach at Los Roques off the coast of Venezuala.
