We traveled to Uganda in February and March, 2003, flying to Entebbe, on the shores of Lake Victoria. We trekked about 50 miles over 10 days in the Ruwenzoris, Uganda's fabled Mountains of the Moon. We climbed the three highest peaks in the range, Margherita at 16760 ft., the highest summit on Mount Stanley, the third highest peak in Africa, Mt. Speke at 16,040 ft. and Mt. Baker at 15,880 ft. Following the trek we visited some of Uganda's national parks, including Queen Elizabeth, Lake Mburo, and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where we tracked mountain gorillas.
